Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July, like all American holidays, makes for an interesting celebration overseas.  Here in Phnom Penh there is a really large expat community so the embassy held a picnic on Sunday afternoon, which naturally had to be as American as possible. Part of the days attractions….

A John Deer Tractor

Arguing over $2 bottles of beer

A Cambodian cover band that played only the best (worst?) American classics

… acrobats, men on stilts, jugglers, a raffle, and an interesting variety of food. No fireworks though! All in all, it was fun and brought a bit of home flavor to Phnom Penh. Happy 4th!

  1. Sounds like you had an interesting 4th!. Glad the Marines are there and John Deer……sure signs of Americanism!
